Mentaid, (the Association for the Development of the Mentally Handicapped), is now a non-profit, educational, training, vocational, and cultural institution for the development of mentally handicapped children and adults. It was the first of its type in West Bengal exclusively organized by parents of the mentally handicapped.

As we are located in the southern fringe of the city of Kolkata, MENTAID is providing services to a great number of families from the lower economic strata of society. Since the awareness level of the community has increased, we are unable to cope under our present financial constraints. There is an increasing demand to expand our services both horizontally and vertically.
